​​Robert is a native and resident of Gonzales and is the son of the late Robert Lawson Sr. and the late Althea Henderson Lawson. Robert graduated from East Ascension High School in 2006. He is also a graduate of Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Chemistry and a Master’s of Business Administration. Robert has been employed for over 10 years in the supply chain industry for healthcare systems. Robert is the co-owner of Lawson and Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home. In addition to being a licensed Funeral Director, he is also a licensed insurance representative. Robert is a member of the Opelousas Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, Southdowns Masonic Lodge 230, Southern University Alumni Federation, Gonzales Lions Club, National and State member of The Louisiana Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, and a charter member of the Krewe of Ascension Mambo.
